Survive Valentines Day hide from Cupid
Whoever invented Valentine's Day was cruel. Cruel and owed a fortune by Hallmark. More than a billion Valentine's Day cards are sent around the world each year. This must concern even the most romantic sucker on an environmental level alone.
That aside, V Day (as it's become known to those who'd rather not speak its name) is the pinnacle of torture in the land of the Singleton. We cannot be happy for those celebrating their love; on V Day couples are the enemy and must be violently combated, or at the very least, rudely snubbed. They invade our restaurants with amorous ardour and our footpaths with missiles of mush.
Take back the streets! The truth is, V Day is really D Day (D for denial). Come February 15th those loved-up losers will go back to their boring existence of curtain shopping, nights on the couch, putting their pasta into fancy jars and referring to themselves as a 'we'.
Celebrate your single freedom! Go out without having to answer to anyone, see your friends, pash a stranger, eat pizza at 4am, pity the fool in love and have another mojito.
Here's a list of places to spend Valentine's Day, whether you're looking to stick your head in the sand, or get your flirt on.
