RALPH's top pubs - QLD

All pubs are great. Some are really special. But we reckon these are the duck's gut. Check out our pick of Queensland pubs - the best bet for banana-benders!

1

Caxton Hotel
Brisbane
The pub of choice for serious footy fans, the Caxton is just a torpedo punt from Suncorp Stadium.

2

Story Bridge Hotel
Kangaroo Point
The pub's bricks are made from ballast that came over on convict boats. It had its most recent renos in 2003, copping three new dining areas and a beer garden.

3

Breakfast Creek Hotel
Breakfast Creek
Built in 1889 with a tops view over the river, it's one of the only pubs around that still pours XXXX off the wood, rather than out of stainless steel kegs. Classic.

4

Stradbroke Island Beach Hotel
Point Lookout
You can clock whales and dolphins from the beer garden, which is a great conversation-starter with random hotties, of which you'll find plenty here.

5

Chalk Hotel
Woolloongabba
Perfect for any mood, with a restaurant, cafe bar, chilled out lounge bar, dance floor, powder room and cocktail bar.
