High Times on Valentines
Valentine's Day is all about the romance, but in a sunburnt country where the chocolates melt and the flowers wilt, sometimes we have to do things a little differently.
This year instead of sitting in a stuffy, over-booked and overpriced restaurant, gulping chunks of confit duck leg or slow braised pork belly, hoping that the date is worth the hard-earned cash, let's try something new.
This fine land of ours boasts just under 24,000km of pristine coastline, which means there are literally thousands of bars to sit at with your significant other where you can watch the sunset and enjoy the warmth of a well-made cocktail in your belly.
Below is a list of bars where the mood is right, the views are stunning and the drinks are oh so smooth.

This revolving high-rise bar atop Australia Square moves at a lazy one meter per minute, ensuring that the only dizziness your date feels is attributed to your charm and good looks (okay, the cocktails may help a little).

Bennelong Bar
Sydney
|
Sitting within the sails of the Opera House, overlooking the magnificence that is Sydney Harbour, this is the place to be if you want to make an impression. The lighting is dim and the cocktails are expertly made. You'll pay for the privilege but your partner will know that you think they are worth it.
