Bondi bars: surf up a thirst

Australia's most iconic stretch of sand might be most famous for what it offers the recreationally inclined, but Bondi Beach also has quite the collection of boozers.

While it's the summer months that see each of the following establishments pack out and double as a meat market for travellers and uni kids on holidays, each can also pride themselves on providing a damn good watering hole to locals in the winter.

1

Icebergs Dining Room and Bar
Bondi Beach
As close as a piece of real estate can get to the ocean without actually possessing aquatic abilities, this is place to go if you like views with your schmooze.

2

Nick's Bondi Beach Pavilion
Bondi Beach
Found in the iconic Bondi Pavilion, Nick's is a great place to combine cocktails, seafood and a sunset.

3

North Bondi RSL Club
North Bondi
Apparently this is where our cinematic darling Nicole Kidman likes to sink a couple when partaking in some R&R. So close to the beach it's silly, it's great for summertime perving.

4

Hotel Bondi
Bondi Beach
This sprawling, recently renovated, beachfront pub is always the last place open, providing refuge for those who don't have to work in the morning.

5

Beach Road Hotel
Bondi Beach
Ok, so technically there are no ocean views to be seen from this backstreet institution (not even by the standards of the most dubious real estate agent). The locals don't seem to care though, and with four bars, two restaurants and live music almost every night, why would they?
