The Welly tap and grill has oodles of Aussie brews on tap and a butcher's shop selection of prime meats on the menu. You can actually choose your cut from the display cabinet in the restaurant, but not before you work up a worthy appetite for it in the bar.
Publican James Brock has tapped his landmark watering hole with just about every local brewski you care to whet your whistle with. All the players in Coopers, Tooheys and James Squire get a guernsey. West End Draught, XXXX Gold and Hahn Super Dry join the line-up, while imports stamp the passports of Becks, Guiness and Heineken. Bottled boutique drops are waiting for those with a taste for something different and if a treat is in order, ask manager Caitlin Ramsay what cocktails she can have concocted for you.
Distractions include a dance floor, plasma screen, pool table and the only hotel TAB facility in North Adelaide. On the first Friday of each month, DJs mix things up a bit. The Wellington is not an Adelaide pub that has been renovated with millions from its pokie piggy bank; its decor is for those who enjoy drinking in a bar with classic character.
