Velvety Goodness
Velluto is a great relaxed wine bar beside the park that separates raunchy Kings Cross from more genteel Potts Point. Catering for a mostly older cashed-up crowd, this is where you'll find very good champagnes by the glass, and some prestige labels for real celebrations. The barman tells me that Velluto means Velvet, which I guess explains the velvet drapes. The room is nicely dark and moody, with a new outdoor area for those wanting cigarettes or starlight. Good wine, good service, good time.
