Bar Information
Uber
Take your shiny party shoes for a walk out west and set them loose on the dance floors of this one-stop Funk Shop.
A state of the art cocktail lounge, restaurant and nightclub all rolled into one, this West End venue aims to spoil its punters in a sophisticated party setting. The interior is absolutely opulent, with every wall and surface covered in textiles in shades of red and burgundy and swirly designs. Both the lounge and club spaces have a warm and cosy feel, perfect for snuggling up with a cocktail, and there's also an outdoor deck. Tea-light candles, dark tables - oh, and plasma screens - complete the scene. Within stumbling distance of Brisbane's CBD, Uber features an extensive cocktail list to get you in the mood for a boogie. The cocktail menu is divided into 'elegant', 'neo-vintage' and 'cult classics', with a healthy list of Uber originals - such as the 'Personal Jesus', which instructs you to 'bow down and worship' its 'holy mix'. If you want to go red, white or sparkling, there is half a dozen of each to choose from. On Saturday nights Uber becomes 'The Funk Shop', with other regular DJ sets throughout the week. This is party place provides a sexy option for Brisvegas night-owls.

Uber-underwhelming
This place has really gone downhill. When it opened it was ridiculously swanky, with Fashion TV playing and lots of glammed up people wanting to be seen. Not really my cup of tea, but there is a cool room behind the bar where they have DJs and bands sometimes which has a nice laid-back atmosphere. The layout is cool, the feature being a big deck with lots of comfy lounges.
I went back a few months later...and the plush red carpet was suspiciously stained, and the music was a blast from the early nineties, and not really in an ironic or updated way. The whole feel was seedy - and again, not in a good way - and suburban (that sounds a bit pretentious but you know what I mean). I pretty much walked out two minutes after walking in. I would only go there if there was a specific DJ you want to see, otherwise, head to the rumpus room. The one star talent rating refers to the house DJ, not to any special acts which might be playing in the back room.
