Take a pot of gold with you and try all the vodkas of the rainbow here, which are swirled into seductive cocktail concoctions.
Located in the Ducks Nuts complex on the ever-buzzing Mitchell Street of Darwin's main drag, Tzars Vodka Bar is the trendiest cocktail lounge in town. Things do get a little messy and packed in the wee hours of the morning, but if you get in early you can relax in a comfy black lounge and enjoy a cocktail that's been expertly whipped up by one of the spunky bar staff.
There are loads of drinks to choose from, but as the name suggests, Tzars specialises in vodka-infused cocktails. There are rows and rows of flavour-infused vodkas, including orange, chocolate, mint and a few interesting lolly-inspired concoctions that look nice but taste sickly sweet.
Darwin doesn't escape the attitude that comes with the 'trendy bar' scene, but for the most part staff and punters are fun, helpful and entertaining. Some of the beer-sinking barflies obviously go to check out the female talent sipping martinis, chattering and gossiping the night away.
Over the weekend, local DJs spin lounge and chill-out tunes as well as funky retro numbers. Tzars is a great place to check out, but be warned - if you're likely to drink cocktails all night make sure you arrive with a full wallet.
