With a relaxed vibe and tempting tunes, this cocktail spot lures in a mixed crowd of professionals, students and older hipsters too jaded for clubbing.
Perched on the edge of a car park behind the Dickson Asian eatery strip, it can be initially hard to believe this is one of the best cocktail joints in Canberra.
The architect-designed interior is dotted with plants and fresh flower arrangements. The cool coloured walls are down-lit with honey warmth, highlighting the art on the walls. As one of the first non-smoking bars in Canberra, the seating outside is very popular in summer - and to a few die-hard smokers in winter.
Trinity Bar's cocktails are fantastic, and the absinthe is also definitely worth trying. There is a decent wine list and plenty of imported beers to discover.
DJs have hogged the corner behind the bar for the last five years, and there is always at least one of them turning out hot jams from Thursday to Saturday nights, and Sunday afternoons. Expect to hear chilled house and hip hop piping through the space on more low-key nights. Guest acts also rock through every couple of weeks, like DJ D'Opus and Petra Elliott, sometimes attracting a cover charge.
Trinity is also an afternoon destination when the weather warms up, serving coffee in the sunshine until the buzzing after-work crowd arrives.
