Step out of the Brisvegas heat into this totally relaxed little basement bar - a laidback local live music gem.
True to its name, Tongue and Groove can cater for both your belly and your sense of rhythm - whether you have any or not. Fill up in the cafe/restaurant upstairs then slink down into the relaxed basement bar for a dose of local live music. There's a laidback unpretentious vibe and you'll find an eclectic mix of people enjoying anything from reggae and funk to alt-rock and blues.
The basement air is earthy - but, thankfully, air-conditioned - the furniture a mish mash and the space small; there is a truly underground feeling. With paint peeling off some of the wood and an old arcade game in the corner, many people come just to relax in the carefree environment - but most come for the music, which is on five nights a week.
Tongue and Groove is a true reflection of West End and has become something of a local icon. Don't come expecting much more than beer - cocktails are definitely not on the menu -but you can rest assured the chilled atmosphere won't ever lift from this thriving basement bar.
