Asian inspiration reigns here, thanks to a backdrop of bright lanterns and a laughing buddha. Sip on a tangy Baby-San cocktail, made with passionfruit vodka, cranberry juice and Cointreau.
When you step through the entrance of Tiger Lil's bar and restaurant, Asia beckons. Just look to the laughing Buddha sculpture sitting behind the bar and the kaleidoscopic sea of colourful paper lanterns, umbrellas and parasols, all suspended from the ceiling. Then there's the mysterious womanly figure, vividly painted across one of the walls, in all her tattooed glory.
Tiger Lil's offers its barflies a wine list packed with Australian and French drops, and beer options such as Asahi, Carlton Draught and Stella Artois.
Cocktails are a specialty, so try the Mata Hari, which blends rum together with peach liqueur, lemon, cardamom and vanilla. Alternatively, sip on a Baby-San. It mixes 42 Below passionfruit vodka with Cointreau and cranberry juice. Those feeling peckish should explore the snack menu, which features dishes sourced from Japan, Laos, Thailand and India.
On Friday and Saturday nights, DJs play funk (sometimes accompanied by a drumming bongo player).
