This revamped pub is a local favourite. Sink a casual beer at the front bar or wander into the luxe wine bar and succumb to vino temptation.
Rozelle's much-loved Rose Shamrock and Thistle has been reborn with a succinct new name and a sexy new look. The refit is undeniably upmarket, but happily the friendly local vibe remains.
The Weeds' front bar retains much of the previous pub's easy-going charm, with the addition of plasma TVs for those who want to watch their sports with friends.
Out the back, owner Todd Salter's refit feels a tad more sophisticated. Ornate wooden chandeliers decorate the ceiling of the lofty main room, along with communal tables, leather banquettes, a recycled sandstone fireplace and fabric light sculptures in shades of red and orange. Artisan brews are a feature, with an extensive range of boutique offerings such as Little Creatures and Old Speckled Hen on tap.
The wine bar is deckled out in luxe leather armchairs and soft-lit lamps. The lounge area is equally opulent, with red velvet banquettes and magenta Florence Broadhurst wallpaper. Kick back and enjoy something from the extensive wine list, or peruse the short but savvy cocktail collection, which features such whimsical names as Brave Angel and Grand Cosmopolitan.
This is my local and I love it. The pub is overrun at weekends by alternating shifts of beautiful Eastern suburbs types and inner-west parents and their brats. Locals know the true beauty that is the Weeds on a weeknight. The Restaurant is hatted, but it's hard to go past the bistro menu - seasonal, perfectly cooked and well presented. The pub recently installed an organic garden and the chef can be seen wandering through with fresh picked herbs - a soulful touch. The staff are attractive and attentive, the music is chilled, and there is a variety of rooms to suit your mood - sports bar, wine bar, lounge and bistro. They regularly feature interesting boutique beers, and the benefits of being a 'friend of the weeds' are manifest.

Great tapas, pizza menu and wine selection
This place is a local favourite. The wine bar is non-smoking and offers great bar food and wine. Try the tapas and pizza boards, or the steak and guinness pie. There is a selection of beers on tap as well as great cocktails and mocktails. The front bar is more traditional in pub style and allows for smoking. There's a pool table and two flat screens to watch the sport.
