This land down under of ours has no shortage of internationally themed pubs. Irish pubs, Bavarian pubs, even Brit-style watering holes can be found on virtually any street corner. But why, in a country where - as Men At Work put it - 'beer does flow and men chunder', is there an apparent lack of Aussie-style taprooms? The Shed aims to eliminate this perplexing anomaly.
Decked out in good old corrugated iron, and offering a range of Aussie beers, wines and snacks (think kangaroo, emu and crocodile meat), this authentic pub provides Northbridge's throng of international backpackers with a quintessential Oz experience.
The huge watering hole is features five bars, five plasmas, four projector screens and five function areas. Catch the big game on the sports screens in The Gravel, shoot a game of pool on The Verandah, or head out to The Ruins, which combines with The Paddock to form one of Northbridge's largest beer gardens.
