Bar Information

The Press Club

Sleek and chic, this restaurant bar deserves its own billing as the top end of town warms to its Greek-inspired offerings.

Originally designed as a space for restaurant clientele to enjoy a pre and post-dinner tipple, the sophisticated galley-style Press Club bar is beginning to cultivate a reputation of its own as an 'in vogue' destination. The focus here is on good service, good-quality booze and it you feel like it, good food from the award-winning kitchen of George Calombaris.

The restaurant's Greek theme extends into the bar, where pride of place is given to 14 different types of ouzo. The delicate aniseed spirit is served in the proper reverential manner - on a small board with a glass of water and a glass of ice on the side; the bar staff encouraging you to add a little of either as you taste. Similar to a single-malt whiskey, top-shelf ouzo should be sipped and appreciated, and there are plenty here to whet your appetite.

There's a swag of bottled beer on offer including the stand-out Greek lager Mythos, or you can try the French ale 3 Monts for something different. The bar shares a wine list with the restaurant, and while all the options by the glass are from home, there are a few enticing bottles of Hellenic vino to choose from
