Giddy Up Again
I agree with much of what my bar hopping cohort DJ Dave Paul has had to say but I must add the following as examples of bitter pills of disappointment I woas forced to swallow on my night out.

First of all, given the name of the establishment, I was under the impression that once I set foot inside I would be transported to England and be surrounded by a bunch of buxom, drunken wenches with cute and or / annoying accents. Unfortunately this proved to be only 3 parts true although I did meet meet a young lady who may have been South African at one point ... although disappointingly she may have been only from across the Tasman. This can be hard enough to establish at the best of times, let alone in a drunken haze, while a DJ is shouting possible obscenetities and you are confronted with more impressive female wobbly bits than Russell Brand at a desperate to sleep with someone famous convention.

The only other real disappointment I can convey is that the venue was really not so much of a Tavern at all than just a very average bar inside of a less than average shopping complex. A few booths and some wooden furniture does not make it a Tavern people!!!! Seriously!!!!! God help me!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. Chicks at the "Tav" are brutally hot ... come in 4 a gander :)

The London Tavern In Review
For a great venue with great floor space, fantasic location & amazing drink prices (well when the bar staff get them right when the music isn't distorting badly on a poorly mixed speaker system). It has potential to be so much more "PUT YOUR HANDS UP IN THE AIR ..." is a catch phrase repeated by the MC who seems to speak through every single song (you can tell when he's probably gone to the toilet, you can enjoy the music & the drinks when the staff haven't got them wrong) "PUT YOUR HANDS UP IN THE AIR ... PUT YOUR HANDS UP IN THE AIR". The decor certainly an improvement but during the day every time without fail Meyer Centre seem to let the ants around the booths which is a little off putting as the beef shnitty meals are actually well cooked. The PA system needs to be ditched & replaced & set up by an expert. The DJ is fine but needs to lose the MC. It's not necessary to talk through almost every single song "PUT YOUR HANSD UP THE AIR" (see how irritating this is in my review". As a producer of local trance music the tavern just needs to change these things AND PUT A PROPER MIDDLE SECTION ON THAT STAIRWELL. I was losing count as to how many stunning women I saw nearly trip over thinking the railing was a railing (where in fact it is just a poor barrier that no doubt has caused many injuries in it's day - I nearly fell down sober which was a shock). The bouncers seem nice and friendly even when hurling out the occasional drunk. The Tavern has potential but these things need to be fixed (and bring back more trance please .... lose the MC & the R&B music). Mind you they won't as Dj's are requested by management at these places to play bad songs in contract so punters can get to the bar "PUT YOUR HANDS UP IN THE AIR". "PUT YOUR HANDS UP IN THE AIR" (see how annoying that is?). The Tavern is great but change these things PLEASE!!!!!! The digital fx on the dj system sound like someone farting through a microphone that is attached to a compressor and cheap distortion pedal. It does not sound good. Swishes are fine but please the SCRATCH FX is terrible to the ears. You can tell who the producers and engineers are in the pub. They are ones shaking their heads in disgust. The Tavern is great but change is still required.
