This pub rocks to all sorts of eclectic sounds, with live musos strumming their stuff every week. Climb to the rooftop bar and take in the winking city light views.
The Corner is something of a live music mecca. Droves of mixed crowds trudge their way here on weekends to listen to Australian and international bands spreading their sounds. Far from pigeonholing itself into one musical genre, The Corner plays host to a variety of bands, as well as tribute nights and fundraiser gigs. Punk, rock, salsa, reggae, folk and dark industrial sounds all get a run here, so it's best to check the pub's website for gig listings and ticket prices. The Corner is split into three sections: the bandroom, the front bar and the rooftop bar. The front bar is grungy yet cosy. Your feet will probably stick to the carpet, but you'll be able to find a nice corner to roost in. The music here is mostly rock and usually loud, but not so loud that you can't hear the clink of pool table balls colliding. The rooftop bar is a summer delight, with open-air seating, potted greenery and fantastic views of the city lights. Dinner is available every night except Monday, and for lunch on the weekends. The specialty is the Burger de Corner, which boasts a mountain of chunky layers held together by a large skewer.
