Don't get confused - this 'store' definitely sells beer not bonds. Take yourself - and your suit - in for a few of the imported variety.
Brought to us from the proprietors of the Belgian Beer cafes - and tucked away just behind their latest Southbank beer venture, Eureka - The Bond Store is a cafe-come-bar good for a quiet drink during the working week. Soft jazz and melodic house beats echo in its spacious barn-style space where, not surprisingly, you can take your pick from a variety of European imported bottled beers. Czech Pilsner and Dutch Oranjeboom, as well as regular spirits and mixers (perhaps a scotch and dry?), can be sipped while you settle on a soft-brown-leather-topped stool by the swish wood and marble bar.
Grape grazers might be a little disappointed with the modest wine list, from which there's a choice of only four reds and whites (most imported Italian and available by the bottle or glass). But the rustic decor of scattered bottles, raw brick walls and cool stone floor beneath a high ceiling that's criss-crossed with wooden rafters makes The Bond Store an appealing destination for casual midday or early post-work drinks. Consider a detour and drop in here first if you have Eureka plans for later.
