Bar Information
Sugaroom
After working on some of the world's largest private yachts, Greg Anderson and Patricia Nunes have returned and opened this gem on Pyrmont's waterfront.
Set at the water's edge by Johnston's Bay, Sugaroom is a popular drinking venue for the trendy set. The modern design of the lounge and bar, created by interior architect Neil Bradford, has a warm and welcoming ambience, enticing patrons to linger on. Full-length glass doors open out onto a seated terrace overlooking the harbour, with views stretching out across to Balmain. This makes for a great spot to relax and sip on signature cocktails like the Sazerac - equal parts cognac & Maker's Mark served neatly in an absinthe rinsed rocks glass. The Mint Moscow Mule is also worth sampling. It combines muddled limes and torn mint leaves shaken with vodka and topped up with ginger beer. The restaurant has its own delights and serves up whole roasted spatchcock with pommes boulangere, morels and mushroom foam; or pan-seared bream fillet with endive, smoked tomatoes, salsify and vanilla butter.
