An old-fashioned pub in a stylish neighbourhood, this place is popular with both the fashion set and the footy heads.
Operating on Greville Street since the 1860s (albeit under a few different names), the Station Hotel is a real local icon. You'll find it among the dotted boutiques, bars and trendy cafes of Prahran.
The Station has undergone extensive renovations over the years, and the result is an upmarket pub which still retains the relaxed feeling of a genuine local. Even mid-week, this place is popular, with people spilling in for a game of pool, cheap beer or just to watch some sport on the big screen.
The university crowd fills the pub up on Thursdays, taking advantage of bargain $2 pots and $8 Jagerbombs. On weekends, the pace steps up a little more, with DJs spinning funky disco and crowd-pleasing retro tunes.
The kitchen serves lunch and dinner every day, and the menu offers traditional pub grub options such as bangers and mash or chicken parma.
In winter, the most popular spot to be is in right front of the fireplace, where you can sip on a glass of wine and relax on one of the comfy couches.
In the summer months, the outdoor courtyard is popular for open-air boozing and the verandah suits alfresco dining and people-watching.
