Settle into some swanky surrounds at this smooth-operating bar. You'll hardly feel like you're in a TAB-friendly tavern at all.
Swankier than your usual sports bar, there's a real touch of class to this suburban bar and bistro, which warrants a far more sophisticated name than the Belmont Tavern (the sign you'll find above the main entrance). The word 'tavern' conjures up images of bare sticky floors and wooden barrels for tables. On the contrary, this bar proffers polished jarrah floors, brushed steel features, plush carpets, soft lounges and leatherette banquettes with a contemporary mix of earthy yellows, purples and greys.
The setting is open plan, giving the space a light and airy feel, and just to the left of the main entrance there's a lovely little nook for more intimate gatherings with friends; the stylish interior isn't the primary reason why this spot is so popular, though. There's an inviting beer garden out the front and the bar is stocked with an exceptionally extensive array of draught and bottled beers, top-shelf spirits, pre-mixed drinks, classic cocktails and wines. But it's the staff that truly makes this place shine. They're a real bunch of smooth operators - professional, attentive and warm.
