Seamstress joins the recent up-cropping of modern bars in Chinatown, adding something different to the usual karaoke hall scene and street-level hawker-style cuisine.
Seamstress is a unique, contemporary cocktail venue with an array of unconventional drink offerings. Set just at the fringes of the Chinatown district, this multilevel venue features four distinct spaces linked by winding staircases. Guests are taken on a journey from appetisers in the chic basement lounge, to modern Eastern dining rooms and two classy rooftop cocktail bars - ideal for finishing off dinner with an exotic sip and a romantic view of the city lights.
As well as operating as a contemporary Cantonese restaurant, Seamstress offers a modern South-East Asian tapas menu to complement the vibrant cocktail list, with a variety of exotic recipes such as crunchy pigs ears lightly coated in a five spice salt, and pan-seared wild harvest scallops stuffed with tailor-made XO on poached iceberg lettuce.
Although the bar has no beers on tap, hops fanatics will be pleased with the continually rotating menu of local and international bottled beers that regularly features samples of new boutique brews. The rooftop loft-style bar is adorned with an unusual arrangement of hanging cheongsams, which lends a colourful curtain effect to fringe the intimate stools and adjoining booths. It's the perfect setting to sample one of the bar's premier cocktails, such as the The Tri-fecta (Polish vodka, fresh lime, sugar and elderflower cordial with cucumber and mint).
