The Saint is one of those places that every Melburnian knows and loves. Okay, so maybe just a place that every Melburnian knows. Still, everyone loves a familiar face, and it's nice to know that you have options that more than likely haven't changed since your last dirty dalliance.
Like the rest of St Kilda, The Saint has embraced gentrified beachside, circa now. If you can look past the fake-tanned harridans tottering around, the place is kinda groovy. A bank in its former life, high ceilings and timber-panelled rooms score highly on the taste barometer and when an Asian-inspired beer garden is thrown in the mix, it does present a feasible entertainment option.
A venue that caters for those who think they can dance - and inexorably for those who can't - The Saint has a dance floor so hip young things can booty-spasm to the latest hip-hop tracks, yo. If civilised beverages are the order of the evening, however, it's worth keeping this in mind and relocating your roistering somewhere a little more discreet.
The Saint is a venue that certainly doesn't follow the rules of the typical Melbourne bar, which, occasionally, can be a good thing. Coolsies about town will find themselves in their element here but avoid if kids scare you and phat beats just ain't your thing.
