Saint or rogue, here's a place that'll stock your poison and let you imbibe it in style.
Before this venue popped up on Little Collins Street, a genuine old-fashioned pub was hard to find. Sure, there are plenty of places with leather lounges, boutique beers and mixed mojitos, but finding one without thumping DJ beats, vodka-mad teens or creepy old characters is quite a mission.
Welcoming saints and rogues alike, this pub is all class. With polished timber and comfy couches, the ground floor of Saint & Rogue is dotted with trinkets, books and detailed cushions. The 150-year-old building is elegantly, but not pretentiously, furnished, allowing guests to imbibe fine wines and cocktails with glee.
For a fruity flavour hit, the Saint & Rogue ice tea - vodka, white rum, gin and Cointreau with mint, muddled lime and cranberry juice - is hard to beat. Of course, Saint & Rogue couldn't call itself a real pub if it didn't serve beer. Twelve taps flow with favourites ranging from Hoegaarden to Fat Yak, while bottles of Corona and Peroni chill in the fridge.
If hunger strikes, ascend to the upper level and dine beneath the original cathedral ceiling on gastro pub nosh, such as the wagyu beef burger with brie, red pepper relish and hand-cut potato chips topped with aioli.
Saint & Rogue is certainly shaping up to be "the place" for punters to spend their spare hours.
