Set above the Revolver music store, this gritty bar is a hotspot for boozy escapades. It offers live acts, DJs and well-worn retro couches to sink into with a beer.
Revolver Upstairs is the kind of place that you always seem to wind up in at the end of the night, with that bewildered 'how did this happen again?' look on your face.
The venue is a giant magnet for anyone with a good eye for a big night out. Expect rock pig invasions, tarts out for an all-nighter and young punks looking to get a solid thrashing on the pool table.
Revolver has a combination of attractions that other bars have tried but failed to replicate; you just can't get that sort of ingrained dirt (that Revolver has in spades) in a brand new bar.
Australia's top DJs have hunched over the decks here, playing a variety of vinyl - from disco to dub, funk to breaks and hip hop to jazzy house. The main room also plays host to regular art exhibitions - stencil work, graffiti and throw-ups being favourites.
In the front room, you can pull up with a pot of your favourite amber liquid and suck up some serious live acts - rock, punk rock, dub, ska, electro and urban folk - from here and across the globe. The space also doubles as a cinema which hosts short film festivals and movie launches.
