An icon of Brunswick Street, this popular spot throws the doors wide to all comers, and they all keep coming!
For more than 15 years the good folk at the Provincial having been giving the punters what they want, seven days a week and the place just keeps on pumping.
Business folk and Brunswick Street bohos (the few that are left) rub shoulders in the main bar that is cosy in winter and breezy in summer. With plenty of room to mingle, some scattered tables and the prized Chesterfield, there's room for all types and the atmosphere is relaxed and lively. The Provincial has a lovely intimate feel with dim lighting and warm wood glowing under ruby lamps.
The bar staff are slick and zip up and down the long bar, delivering quality first-pour spirits. Aside from some proper French bubbles, the wine list is an Aussie affair, with all the big names that people know and love.
Upstairs, the club-style Chameleon bar opens up for resident DJs to turn out the funk on Friday and Saturday nights. Bar food is available or you can saunter through to the cafe for a hearty meal of well-executed, Italian-style pub fare.
