A cricket ball's throw from the WACA, this sports bar is ideal for pre and post-match drinks.
The Hyatt Regency Perth and its Plain Street Bar has played host to many national and international stars of the football, soccer, cricket and rugby world - many of whom have left their mark on the framed pictures, jerseys and sports memorabilia that don the walls. Perhaps the most awe-inspiring item in the collection is the huge wooden rowing skull suspended upside-down from the ceiling and accompanying oars which are hung over the bar. Just as impressive is the bar's display of 30 Australian and imported boutique beers, not to mention the small but sumptuous snack menu featuring a mixed appetiser platter for two and vegetarian spring rolls from the award-winning Joe's Oriental Diner. Being just a cricket ball's throw from the WACA, it's ideally positioned for pre and post-match drinks - be they to celebrate or commiserate. On sunny Friday afternoons, tables and chairs are set outside and the gathering crowd spills out into the shady courtyard. Should rain call off play however, there are two very comfy leatherette sofas inside and plenty of stools, so you can settle in front of the TV screens to watch the latest game.
