Known as the 'Paddo' among locals, this corner pub is more polished than it first appears. Watch the action on Oxford Street through the large bi-fold windows.
Affectionately referred to as the 'Paddo' by locals, the Paddington Inn is swankier than its humble nickname suggests. Sure, it used to be a modest beer 'n' fag kinda pub, but things have changed since its late '90s renovation. This place has become one of the city's favourite watering holes. With its warm wooden interior, contemporary decor and mood lighting, it strikes a balance between the old world and the new.
Unsurprisingly, the clientele here is equally diverse. On any given weekday, you might find friendly locals laughing over cold schooners while keeping tabs on a competitive game of pool, or a bunch of good-humoured style-mavens flocking around the front bar and peering at passers-by through the large bi-fold windows.
If you manage to tear yourself away from the bustling Oxford Street view, you'll notice the place also has an interesting wine and cocktail menu. Grab a glass of vino, or perhaps a Berrylicious cocktail: it mixes berries with Absolut Vanilia and sparkling wine.
With regular additions to the cocktail menu, you can be assured this is a rut-free drinking haven. If the drinks don't float your boat one week, they'll be sure to rock it the next.
