While there are no nudes in the flesh, there are plenty on the walls. Hip young things come here to sip in an eclectic, arty setting.
Set within the Australian Youth Hotel, this bar feels like an arty salonette. Nude gets its naughty name from its history as a former brothel. However, these days all the naked ladies are gone. Well almost. They've now been replaced by nude and semi-nude paintings by Josh Honeyman.
As far as bars go, Nude is bohemian, cosy and warm. There are velvet and leather couches, ottomans, chandeliers and walls dressed up with naked art galore.
Drink-wise, expect to find Heineken, James Squire Amber Ale, Cascade Premium Light and St Arnou on tap. Cocktails include offerings such as the S&M (cognac blended with cinnamon, cream and sugar) and the Forbidden Fruit (wild apple vodka, apple, schnapps, cream, sugar and cinnamon). Indeed, the whole cocktail list entertains a bit of a raunchy theme. Sex up your drinking session by ordering an Orgy, a Lust, a Debauchery or a slightly more subdued Morning After.
DJs play indie pop and electroclash on Saturday nights. The regular badge draw is held on Tuesdays and trivia reigns on Wednesdays.
