A fashionable venue for the fashionably late, Niche is a decadent lounge bar that encourages dressing up as opposed to dressing down. The floorboards and plush couches make the main room feel like an exclusive hotel lobby, with subtle lighting providing the ambience required to avoid dark chaos reminiscent of a nightclub.
The outdoor section is surrounded by long draping curtains with touches of natural light. The dedicated outdoor bar is finished in dark wood, with mingling encouraged as a standard practice. Local DJs set the Niche mood with a selection of house, funk and electronica, though sitting and sipping is just as encouraged as late-night dancefloor action.
The comprehensive cocktail list is constantly updated. There are a few favoured staples though, such as the Lychee Thai, New England Iced Tea, Elderflower Buck and Yellow Bird (white rum, apricot liqueur, vanilla Galliano, fresh lime and pineapple juice). The creative fruits of the mixologist's labours are recommended, as is the obligatory glass of Piper-Heidseick, Moet &Chandon.
Friday and Saturday nights see Niche fill up just before the stroke of midnight,so be sure to get in early to avoid the queue.
