Venture here if you have a hankering for a Yank theme served up along with your beer or bourbon. Expect rockabilly country-pop tunes, diner-style snacks, sports coverage, pool and ping-pong.
This place is an American-style sports bar. The wooden floors and relaxed dress code create a ranch-like atmosphere, where everyone is welcome, from students and backpackers to the standard local blow-ins.
The resident DJ gets boots tapping on most weekends, with unpretentious old-school party tunes and Aussie favourites on the playlist.
Downstairs, guests soak up the sounds of throbbing electric bass guitars while watching sport on plasma screens. When no bands are playing, tunes revolve around chart hits and retro numbers.
From 6pm on Fridays and Saturdays, the on-screen entertainment is overshadowed by the cheers and jeers from the six pool tables, free until 10pm. Arcade-style pinball machines ring out in the background.
At the open-air sports deck upstairs, serious faces hover over pool cues and debate pub rules. Signed car racing memorabilia pieces coat the walls. Seven small TVs show live sporting action and occasionally there's a group roar or drunken cheer.
There's a large selection of local and imported beers as well as a variety of relatively fine wines. Alternatively, true cowboys can opt for a scotch or bourbon and suck on a thick cigar out the back.
