When it rains it pours - especially in Darwin. Find shelter in this local watering hole and rest up with a soothing cocktail.
There are many reasons why you'd visit Monsoons, but the impressive cocktails on offer (a rarity in central Darwin) are just the first of many reasons why you won't walk past the front door.
One of the new kids on the block as far as bars go, Monsoons is in the city's original cinema building, which formerly housed the somewhat dodgy bar, O'Rourke's Drift. After seven months of work though, the venue has been restored and remodelled into an atmosphere that fuses Middle Eastern, oriental and Australian elements.
The new bar is 22 metres long, made from African red granite, and boasts 20 different premium and local beers on tap. There is also a large selection of Australian and New Zealand wines on the beverage list (some not held at any other venue in Darwin) and finally, a unique selection of cocktails.
Playing host to some of Australia's biggest live acts, Monsoons showcases local favourites, newly unearthed talents and forgotten legends, as well as interstate and touring bands. So for a big atmosphere, late night out, live music, or simply a delicious meal and a drink or two, you can't go past the comfortable, cool surrounds of Monsoons.
