This hotel bar looks rather sexy. It possesses a strong boudoir feel, thanks to deep, sink-your-derriere chaises, glowing chandeliers and the red leather curtains.
Scarlet furnishings, winking chandeliers and various cocktails can be found at this lounge which is set on the first floor of the St James Hotel. Sure it's a swish sort of establishment and its drinklist packs a punch, but Mirabelle is also a relative newcomer to the scene, so lots of people are yet to discover it - or even buzz about it.
Wander inside and you'll find a strong Parisian boudoir theme at work. Just check out the burnished gilt mirrors, plush velvet drapes, antique armchairs and the coatings of passionate red, red, red. The venue also features a separate balcony (which is popular with smokers) and a private room called The Hyde, which has views of its namesake park.
Slink your way over the bar and order up a glass of bubbly, a naughty martini or perhaps a Mirabelle Kiwi Breeze (kiwifruit vodka melded with pomegranate, lemon juice, creme de peche, blood orange and sugar syrup).
Aside from Mirabelle itself, the St James Hotel is also home to a separate street-level bar decked out in cream and gold tones, and a lower-ground diner which serves relatively simple nosh such as mezze plates, steaks and pizzas.
