Grab your poncho and settle in for a night of tequila appreciation. Don't panic if you get a worm in your shot - that's supposed to happen.
A little piece of love has flowered in exciting East Brunswick, with Mi Corazon ("my heart" in Spanish), opening its doors and shouting out its passion for tequila.
To find Mi Corazon just look for the wild west saloon doors and rough-hewn wooden shutters. Inside, the Mexican decor features rich orange walls, ruby couches and squat wooden stools that provide plenty of lounging space.
Mexican art abounds and the prized tequila is lovingly displayed in large niches carved out of the walls. Prop up at the bar under the watchful eye of the Virgin Mary and peruse the 30 different tequilas (or three mezcals) on offer, ranging from the house tequila all the way to the Herradurra Selection Suprema.
Each tequila is served with a sangrita: a tomato based chaser. While many patrons can't help themselves and slam down a shot when it's presented to them, the staff at Mi Corazon encourage patrons to sip their tequila like any other spirit to be appreciated.
Mi Corazon also serves up some excellent Mexican style snacks including quesadillas and nachos, or you can tuck into some full sized meals like fajitas and enchiladas. So head to the north side of town to get some south of the border action.
