By day it plays host to boozy business lunches, but by night the ties come off as the red marble bar warms those corporate hearts.
It might be nestled in beside the Perth Convention Centre, but the Metro has a focus on helping those poor, bedraggled business types forget they're at the latest conference on paperclips.
Sporting inviting leather lounges and a luminescent marble bar, the interior says 'we're cool, but it's ok to relax'. The sprawling outdoor terrace is rumoured to be the biggest in the city and is perfect for either winding down or catching up with mates.
At the bar, order yourself a Dizzy Blonde or a Metro Sexual - cocktail, that is. These are indulgent concoctions, with the former sporting healthy doses of Kahlua and Baileys, while the latter is a heady mix of Pernod and advocaat. If you feel like watching your waistline, they have the low-carb 'it' beer, Pure Blonde, on tap, alongside a host of other local and international brews, such as Stella Artois and Asahi.
The adjoining bistro aims to serve the best of local Western Australian produce. Head chef Gavin Marks is at the helm of a menu ranging from a more-ish cheese platter for the peckish grazer, to meatier fare, such as the marinated lamb rump, for the convention attendee looking for some protein to fill out their power suit.
