Pour your own vino as you please and then pay for it using a special swipe card. That's novelty.
Match is either really cool, or not at all. It depends on your outlook. This place is part of a chain which has sister venues are in London and Ibiza. It's a bar-slash-restaurant with designer interiors, Wi-Fi, cushy booths, wooden deck and an automated wine system where you can pour your own tipples and pay via a swipe card that's charged up.
If it was a person, Match would probably be that girl at school that was hot, sporty, brainy, popular and the teacher's pet. You know the one - the perfect all-rounder. Did you like her or hate her? It's a matter of opinion.
My friends and I peruse the drinks list. It features a photo of a big, exhausted dog lolling on a couch with its tongue hanging out. Is it a warning?
We order Big Appleberries (whisky, muddled berries and pressed apple juice). They're seriously good. Next, we try Grapefruit Juleps (grapefruit vodka, fresh pink grapefruit, pomegranate and honey syrup). They're even better. I grab the menu again and find myself intrigued by the Zombie (five rums, absinthe, unspecified syrups and 'exotic' juices). Hmmm, it sounds deadly. But then again, research is very important. I take another look at the dog and know my fate is sealed as I signal the bartender.
