A long-time favourite lunch spot for CBD suits, this venue is shaping up to be a classy cocktail-sipping night spot, too.
With its luxurious cocktail list, Martin Place Bar has become more than just a geographically convenient meeting point for casual business conversations. Although the bar is centrally located deep in suit-city, it can still often be tricky to visit during the working day - not because you can't find a spot, but because most will have difficulty stopping at just one refreshing lychee cosmopolitan.
After dark, Martin Place Bar turns on the charm, with resident DJs taking to the decks. At this point, a few extra Campari-spiked pomarancza sunset cocktails can begin to seem like a pretty good idea.
There are also bar food options for a low-key nibble, including salt and pepper squid with a green papaya salad, or even an ever-trusty chicken schnitzel with salad, fries and chilli aioli. Lunch is still the specialty here though. There's even a pre-order option for those keen to fit the Asian-style duck salad around their daily schedule.
Any pick from the bistro menu is sure to go down a little bit more smoothly if enjoyed with a bottle from the selection of cellar-aged Australian wines. And if there's cause for celebration, or a desire to splash some cash, a bottle of Dom Perignon is a gesture sure to be appreciated by your drinking companions.
