There is much going on inside this unassuming corner bar; DJs, live music, drink specials and theme nights should keep the fun continuing through the week.
The Marble Bar may have some stiff competition from its neighbours on the pub- and club-end of Waymouth Street but it manages to hold its own. When a place can pack them in until the wee hours on a Thursday, you know they must have a few tricks up their sleeve; free entry, drink specials and DJs playing until 5am are good start.
The front bar curves around its corner location. Stools, ottomans and banquette seating are co-ordinated with the timber tones of the tables and floorboards. Beyond the front bar lies a larger space that serves as a restaurant on weekdays and morphs into a club atmosphere at night.
Disco balls give Marble Bar a retro feel, but this bar is anything but. DJs play a mix of house and electro on Fridays and Saturdays, while Thursdays are popular, especially with the student and backpacker crowd, with music all night and the chance to get your drink on the house with the Marble Bar's famous Rock-Paper-Scissors game. Over the years, this bar has undergone several incarnations, with recent renovations sprucing it up further.
