This newly renovated old-timer is home to more than $14 million of art and embellishments. It's sure to delight both sobre and tipsy eyes alike.
Repolished once again, the 112-year-old Marble Bar seems to know the secret to eternal life.
After three years of hibernating during the Hilton Sydney's top-to-bottom overhaul, this renovated grande dame is back on Sydney's bar scene, looking shiny and recharged.
Moving with the times doesn't mean turning away from a rich history, though. Step inside the underground lair and you'll rediscover (or, well, discover, if you're a nightlife adolescent) those old Julian Ashton artworks, the marble-and-mahogany interiors, the Victorian touches and the carved female figures.
The bar has also seemingly preserved its post-work patronage of CBD suits, both young and old-ish, who mix with Sydney's flighty bar-hopping set.
Expect to soak up jazz, blues, and a flirty, raucous atmosphere buoyed by frothy beers and classic cocktails. Yes, this smooth old-timer still knows how to entertain, charm and stir up some modern Friday night mischief. Age is just another number.
