This wine bar encourages you to embark on a globe-trotting adventure. Settle in and explore the menu, which features Australian and French wine, and beer brewed in Thailand and Japan.
Tipple travel is a round-the-world liquid experience at Luxe. You can drink and clink glasses, and perhaps even slur your way across the globe in a few sophisticated, chatty hours. The bar menu overflows with options, and it boggles the mind even before any alcohol has had a chance. For this reason, it's probably best to give foresight the nod and consider planning an itinerary. Some start with a domestic exploration of Australian whites, and then progress to France with hefty bottle of Maison Louis Jadot Macon Blanc Villages. Others take a stopover in New Zealand before moving onto bottled brews from Italy and Japan. Aside from the wine, champagne and beer, there's also an array of cocktails to consider.
Although this little bar takes its drinking seriously, it still preserves a relaxed, unpretentious setting. Red booths are mixed with wooden tables and tropical blooms. The seating flows onwards and outside, facing out onto the tree-lined streetscape. Barflies in their 30s and 40s sip away in a blended scene of pressed suits and standard jeans. Some come here to blow off some office steam, while others are waiting for a nearby cinema session to start. The kitchen serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and tapas. For those with an appetite, the nosh options include steak, risotto and salt and pepper squid.
