The first thing you notice about Lunar Lounge is its distinctive decor. Venture here and you're likely to feel as though you've stumbled straight into a stranger's chic lounge room. A rich stranger with good taste, that is. Eye off the plush suede seating, thumb through the books grouped on shelves, and take in the ornate mirrors and the richly patterned ivory wallpaper. Relax in the elegant side room, which features a cascading indoor water fountain, or adjourn to the main room, where a winking overhead chandelier lends the space an old-world sense of charm. Here, you can order a vino (there are over 30 options available by the glass) or perhaps consent to a Lunar Affair, which blends Midori together with Cointreau, Blue Curacao, orange and mango juice and coconut cream. From the outdoor deck, sippers mill about and take in the James Street vista, particularly at sunset, and usually with cocktails or bubbly in hand. Drinking aside, Lunar Lounge also offers late lunches, dinners and lounge snacks. The menu offers up options such as the chilli bug saffron risotto.
