This waterfront pub claims to run 'Canberra's biggest Wednesday night', so expect a clubby atmosphere, DJs and the possibility of a ride on a mechanical bull.
Set on Lake Ginnindera, The Lighthouse is popular for business lunches, post-work drinks and partying after dark. When the summer weather blisters, the waterfront beer garden becomes especially crowded.
Sidle up to the bar and you'll find standard VB on tap, along with boutique ales such as Beez Neez, Cascade Blonde, Stella Artois and James Squire Amber Ale.
Lunch and dinner are served everyday and popular choices include pizza, steak and classic fish and chips.
The weekly event line-up varies greatly. Wednesdays feel clubby and see DJs cranking out Top 40 hits along with commercial house; sometimes there are also novelty attractions such as mechanical bulls and surfboards as well as horizontal bungee rides. The management at The Lighthouse claim that their Wednesday night is 'Canberra's biggest'.
Thursdays are dedicated to open-mic muso sessions and Fridays feature live bands who belt out covers of hits. Saturdays see DJs spinning old and new requests and Sundays feature chilled DJ house beats in the beer garden and a free barbecue from 2pm.
