Step past the heavy wooden doors, escape the brisk night air and slip right into Kremlin Bar.
Inspired by romantic notions of mysterious Russia, this place is warm and rich inside. It's coated in deep shades of plum and finished with polished wooden floors. The sunken lounge, lit by two twinkling chandeliers, looks out onto the bustling cityscape. It's a tempting spot to relax, people-watch and sample a few naughty drinks.
The cocktail list currently offers more than 15 creations. Try the Kremlin Smash, if you dare. This sweet little concoction mixes strawberry liqueur together with Cointreau, bubbly, lemon juice and a stiff shot of vodka.
Aside from the cocktails, there's also a range of imported and local beers available, as well as a wine list with a strong Australian focus.
Of course, a bar with a Russian vibe wouldn't be authentic if it turned its back on the traditional passion for vodka. The Kremlin Bar team is collecting an expanding range of imported and infused vodkas, to provide a broad tasting experience for those who are serious about Russia's favourite drink.
By way of entertainment, you can catch free live jazz on Thursdays, or groove along to retro DJ tunes with a funk twist on Saturdays.
