With mouth-watering bar snacks, divine cocktails and decadent decor, this classy bar has earned its reputation as one of Sydney's exclusive nightspots.
If you can locate this elegant little bar and restaurant, you'll be rewarded with inventive cocktails infused with flavours from South-East Asia.
Set on tree-lined Victoria Street on the inner hem of the Cross, Jimmy Lik's harbours a long and slender bar within, seductively lit with a few low-burning candles. People come here to start their bar-hopping adventures, or to secure a cocktail prelude before dining in Jimmy's separate restaurant area which serves posh but hawker-inspired Asian dishes at communal tables.
Laidback jazz and electro tunes warm the venue, offering a chilled break from the rush of the raging Cross outside. All of the cocktails have distinct Asian accents. Sip on a Ho Chi Tea (bison grass vodka, absinthe, pulverised green apple, mint and blackberry tea) or perhaps a Mekong Mary (pepper vodka, tomato juice, nam jim and cucumber). Alternatively, turn to the signature creation, Jimmy's Saketini (vodka, sake and gin shaken up with pickled ginger). Drinks are on the pricey side with cocktails starting at $15 and rising upwards and wines priced at a bare minimum of $7.50 per glass.
Bar snacks include options such as salt and pepper cuttlefish with Vietnamese dipping sauce and blue eye cod and coriander dumplings with garlic, chives and chilli sauce.
