A cool $150 million has been tipped into this venue so far. Play amid the greenery, lounge on the terrace and spend up on cocktails.
One can't help but envy (and secretly curse) the seemingly charmed existence of entrepreneur Justin Hemmes. I mean, it's almost as if he builds a new bar every time his drink needs freshening up.
Ivy has two restaurants and a variety of bars (Ivy Bar, Ivy Lounge, The Den, The Patio, The Terrace) set over two levels. Designwise, the venue makes you feel like you've wandered into a mansion party and somebody's just unlocked Daddy's liquor cabinet. The space is cushy, lush and leafy. You almost expect a gardener to appear and start pruning the Japanese maple or a maid to begin dusting the lampshades. There are open-air terraces and cabana-style nooks to explore. You can get flirty amid the greenery, eye off the water features, sink your bottom into various sofas or venture up the spiralled staircase (not so easy after a few wines) - as long as your personal hotness satisfies the 'security' staff.
