Part of the Medina Hotel (complete with view into the austere and brightly-lit hotel foyer), this bar cum eatery struggles to create an independent identity. A tiring interior is entering the dangerous middle-ground between "impersonal hotel" and "yesteryear classy", and the small on-street outdoor area is the domain of smokers. Good drink specials on Friday attract a modest crowd, but the bar staff seem more accustomed to the pace of the occasional lonely business traveller having a quiet drink on the hotel tab. The regular drink prices are on the high side (more like chain hotel bar prices?), and once the specials end the crowd thins drastically -- evidence (if any was needed) that this is not the hottest bar in town. If you work within a block or two you may consider starting your Friday evening with a few cheap drinks here. But don't cross town; there are other, better bars offering drink specials.
