This place features shiny disco balls and lots of them, so consider packing your sunglasses for an evening at this late-night haunt.
Living up to its name, the Geisha Bar on Northbridge's James Street goes to great lengths to keep its more-sophisticated-than-average crowd of night owls entertained right through the small hours until the break of day. It's famed for playing the funkiest underground house music on Perth's club scene.
The bar's narrow staircase leads up from the street level to an alluring, intimate space. A tasteful smattering of modern art adorns the walls, including manga-style paintings, mixed in with a few pop art pieces.
Two stainless-steel-topped bars are stocked with boutique beers, vodkas and a creative mix of classic cocktails, ranging from B52 and Slippery Nipple shooters to Fruit Tingle and Cherry Ripe shakers.
There are even a couple of video games in the far corner, featuring old-school favourites such as Pac-Man, Space Invaders, Galaga and 1984. Perhaps the most awe-inspiring feature is the cluster of more than 100 various-sized mirror balls suspended over the dance floor. When they're all set in motion and fully lit, it's quite a spectacle to behold. The limelight can often be stolen though by the world-class DJs who frequent the decks and the occasional cool customer who adheres to the dress code, which reads, "wear anything - but wear it exceptionally well".
