The place to go for live music in Surry Hills, this venue offers its stage to national and international acts alike.
Straight off the bat, if you've found yourself inside the doors of this evolved Irish Club, you're there for live music. This no-nonsense establishment lives and breathes to serve up night after night of raucous mayhem.
The floor may be sticky and the bartenders won't make small talk (because they can't hear you over the lead guitarist), but this two-story piece of Sydney's rock history has a heart of gold and has been doing a service to concertgoers for years.
Bigger than your average pub stage, but not quite as large as the cavernous "venues" around town, here you can see the next big thing, or if you've got the hot tip, any number of big touring acts (anyone who can say they saw The Strokes here in 2006 knows what I'm talking about).
The bar itself serves up what you'd expect from the average pub (and at pub prices which is a nice change for a concert venue). Be prepared to get your beer in a plastic cup if punk is gracing the stage the night you visit (but if it's Sarah Blasko, they'll probably take their chances and let you have a wine glass).
