Down a cheap drink or three and get into the swing of things at this popular live music venue, set in the heart of Fitzroy.
A haven for gig-goers, Brunswick Street's The Evelyn hosts a huge number of underground and popular bands on a weekly basis, with a sizeable fan base that keeps coming back for more. Not only does it host a diverse array of acts, you'll find all types of people and personalities here, swimming in off the coast of Fitzroy's fabulous sidewalk.
Keep your eyes peeled on your first visit because you just might miss it. Masked behind a bland brick wall, with a bottle shop connected to its hip, look for the line of people snaking along its perimeter. They're the Evelyn's groupies waiting for the doors to open so they can see the next big thing.
Inside the venue has cool, dark walls and similarly sombre decor, so you should have few qualms about getting into the screaming swing of things. With cheap drinks on offer, your wallet won't distract you from the live music either.
Set in the middle of Fitzroy, the Evelyn is always busy. If you're not in the mood for some tunes, you can shoot pool or relax in the beer garden.
