Guinness flows freely at this Irish-themed pub, which was designed and built in the Emerald Isle before being imported into Perth. It doesn't get any more genuine than that.
There's no denying that Australia's western coast is a world away from the Emerald Isle, but this watering hole has managed to transport the character of a genuine Irish pub across the globe - literally. Designed and constructed in Ireland, and then imported to Australia, Durty Nelly's interior offers a true piece of Ireland in the heart of Perth. Guinness flows generously from the taps, serving thirsty punters who embrace Ireland's passion for the black ale. Also available on tap is Kilkenny and Bulmers Original (an Irish cider), as well as a few local brew labels such as James Squire and Feral (a boutique West Australian beer). Happy hour is held from 5pm to 6pm Monday to Friday and is popular with the nine-to-fivers looking for after-work bevvies. Irish accents reign on Saturday's backpacker night, when homesick travellers can drown their sorrows with $5 pints and an Irish jam session led by Pearce Ward and his Amazing Fiddler. Even the hearty pub grub offers a taste of Ireland, with dishes such as hot Irish stew and Durty Nelly's famous steak and Guinness pie.
