This massive complex with an eyebrow-raising name offers a daily party with live bands, DJs and cold drinks in a pub-style atmosphere.
While the cutesy (and disturbingly thought-provoking) name conjures images of a dark and moldering English pub, this is far from the truth. The Ducks Nuts is actually a big, modern entertainment complex, complete with a restaurant, a live act space, a vodka bar and a wry sense of humour.
The street-side tables offer prime people-watching views for post-work drinkies - if you can snag a seat - while the awning protects delicate heads from the scorching sun (or the monsoonal rains - Ducks is open through the wet season). If the heat's too much, head inside to the modern, funky surrounds of the air-conditioned main saloon.
Ducks cultivates a pub-style atmosphere, with hearty food, trivia and drink deals. However, the main draw most nights of the week is the live entertainment, ranging from DJs to party bands playing popular covers.
There are 15 beers on tap for that much-needed quencher on a sizzling day, or drinkers can nip through to the neighbouring Tzar's Vodka Bar for one of the 40 flavoured vodkas. This bar provides a bit of a change of pace from the pub feel of the rest of the venue, and offers a space where partygoers can sip bubblegum vodka to pulse-pounding dance music.
